Rosemont Preserve 2015

Happy New Year to all our friends and neighbors of the Rosemont Preserve.  2014 was a busy year that saw a lot of work done on the Preserve.

Rosemont Preserve Outdoor Classroom Thanks to Brandon Loder we now have an outdoor classroom.  We use it for field trips and docent led tours - it is a fantastic way to provide seating to eager students coming to the Preserve to learn about native plants and conservation.

Rosemont Preserve Demonstration Garden boxes

Girl Scout Troop 5511 built and donated planting boxes for a demonstration garden.  These beautiful planter boxes will serve as a nursery where we can demonstrate how to plant and care for native plants.

Eagle Scout candidate Brett Tyler

Most recently, Brett Tyler installed irrigation and landscaped the entrace to the Preserve.  He selected a variety of natives, many of which can be planted in your own garden as a great alternative to some of the non native plants that take up much more water.

Stay tuned in 2015 - we have more changes in the works!  We also will be hosting monthly Restoration Days and Open Gate days where the Preserve will be open to the community to visit.  We hope to see you soon!
