The Conservancy’s watershed education program focuses on conveying place-specific and historically accurate information in
an engaging format for youth and adult audiences. The cornerstone of the program is our short film, Eaton’s Water. A copy of the DVD is
available free to teachers and students (with a small charge for shipping and handling if we mail it). If you are not a teacher or student, your
donation (suggested amount $20 minimum) will go towards the education program.
Eaton’s Water is based on a story written by local author Michele Zack. The development of the watershed education plan and
initial story was funded by a small grant from the Metropolitan Water District. The film stresses the development of local water resources, which was
key to settlement of the region. We are still raising funds to develop curricula tied to the film and designed to address the appropriate California
standards for science and history. We are working with Pasadena Unified School District now on this phase of the project. The film is also appropriate
for adult and older youth education.
The following generous donors provided the funds to allow us to engage Art Center College of Design student Sally Levi, who wrote the script and
directed the film.
