Chaney Trail Corridor
In 2001, the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy worked with the Trust for Public Land to acquire 15 acres along the Chaney Trail corridor. The corridor is the gateway to Millard Canyon, leading to waterfalls in the canyon, Mount Wilson, and other scenic points in the Angeles National Forest.
In 2002, AFC acquired an additional 1.5-acre parcel in the corridor that includes a section of the Altadena Crest Trail, stopping a development plan that could have resulted in another gap in the crest trail.
After acquiring the parcel, AFC restored habitat for wildlife with a grant from the Metropolitan Water District.
